If you want the shadowing and contours from the base texture, duplicate it, place on top and set as either overlay, soft light, or hard light and adjust the opacity.

Thank you! That way my recolors won’t come out looking like plastic, lol

I recolored the yellow bassinet from in game, but I can’t find the other colors! Your Recolors are so nice, but I can’t find the rest of the bassinets to Recolor. Help!

In the FullBuild file, all 4 colors should be named in sequence so if you find one and then click Instance at the top to sort it, they’ll all be together.

saudade-sims4 said: Mel, some recolors aren’t in sequence. The shower I’m trying to do had 5 numbers in build files 7 and 8.

You’re right, some of the files aren’t together, not even in the same file for that matter. I should mention that too. The bassinet specifically is all in order in the same package though.

I should have known you would know for sure, as you are the game file guru 😉

Here’s what I’m working on, the “Under the Sea” shower/bathtub. I thought I had them all ready to go, but when I put them in game they became really pixelated. Anyone have any tips on how to fix the pixelation issues?

The last photo shows what it looks like in photoshop. It’s not pixelated there.

So, with this new found way of quickly exporting the img files I went and had a bright idea (I say with a somewhat sarcastic tone). I’m exporting all the img files from FullBuild 6, 7, and 8 into one folder. Then I can just search one folder and have the img files right away rather than having to…

OMG!!!! YES! SIGN ME UP!!!!!!

Er, I think I got a little excited. Let’s try this:

Mel, what a kind offer 🙂 Please consider this a sincere and solemn request for the zips.

So, I’ve been saving each dds file individually copying and pasting its instance as its name but lo and behold the great plasticbox has bestowed grand time saving knowledge upon me once again.

You’ve found all the files you need to recolor. Click the first one, hold shift, click the last one, to…

All Hail plasticbox!!

At the risk of sounding really douchey, I’m just going to go ahead and say this:
If you’re one of the only handful of people that is getting to create NEW objects for the game, either provide multiple color options (that people will actually like) or, and preferably, allow recolors.

I mean, I get…

Exactly!
